Set Up Slack Notifications

Get real-time Clearmargin notifications in your Slack workspace. No webhook URLs or developer setup required — just click "Add to Slack" and authorize.

Steps

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Slack.
2. Click "Add to Slack" — you'll be redirected to Slack to authorize the Clearmargin app.
3. Pick your workspace and allow access. You'll be redirected back automatically.
4. Choose a default channel for notifications from the dropdown.
5. Select which events to receive (grouped by category: billing, proposals, bookings, projects, documents).
6. Click "Save Settings", then "Send Test" to verify.

Category Routing (Optional)

You can route different notification types to different Slack channels:

1. Expand the "Category routing" section.
2. For each category, pick a channel or leave it as "Use default".

For example, send billing notifications to #payments and booking inquiries to #leads.

Private Channels

The channel picker shows channels the Clearmargin bot can access. To send notifications to a private channel, invite @Clearmargin to that channel first — it will then appear in the dropdown.

Disconnecting

Click "Disconnect" in the Slack settings page to revoke access and stop all notifications. You can reconnect at any time.
