Add a Recipe/BOM to a Charge

Attach a bill of materials (recipe) to a charge item for cost-based pricing.

Steps

1. Go to "Charges" in the sidebar (/dashboard/charges).
2. Create a new charge or click to edit an existing one.
3. Click "Add Recipe" or open the recipe editor via the slide-over sheet.
4. Add material components: search the catalog or enter a new material with quantity, unit cost, and markup.
5. Assign each component a material category to apply default markup rules.
6. Add labor fields if needed: labor hours and labor rate.
7. Choose pricing mode: "manual" (you set the final price) or "calculated" (price auto-derived from markup cascade).
8. Save the recipe — the charge now has cost-based pricing with component breakdown.
9. When used in a proposal, a snapshot of the recipe is created (editable per-proposal).
