Create a Contract
Create a new contract from scratch, a template, or a proposal.
Create a new contract from scratch, from a reusable template, or directly from an accepted proposal.
From a Template
- Go to "Contracts" in the sidebar
(/dashboard/contracts). - Click "New Contract".
- Select a client (required).
- Optionally select a project and link an accepted proposal.
- Choose a template from the starter or custom template list.
- The contract is created as a draft with the template content pre-filled.
- Edit the content in the contract editor, then send for signing.
From a Proposal
- Open an accepted proposal.
- Click "Create Contract" in the proposal actions.
- The contract is created with the proposal's line items embedded as a read-only "Schedule A" reference.
- Edit any additional clauses, then send for signing.
Blank Contract
- Go to "Contracts" > "New Contract".
- Select a client.
- Click "Blank Contract" to start with a basic structure (intro, signatures, amendments clause).
- Use the contract editor to add clauses, merge fields, and signature blocks.
From an Uploaded PDF
- Go to "Contracts" > "New Contract".
- Select a client.
- Under "Upload Existing Contract", select a PDF file.
- The contract is created with content type "PDF".
- On the edit page, use the embedded template editor to place signature fields on the PDF.
- Send for signing as usual.
