What are inquiries?
When someone submits your booking page, their submission becomes an inquiry in Clearmargin. Inquiries live in a dedicated pipeline at /dashboard/inquiries where you can track every lead from first contact through to becoming a client. A sidebar badge shows how many new inquiries are waiting for your attention.
View the inquiry pipeline
- Go to "Inquiries" in the sidebar
(/dashboard/inquiries). - The kanban board shows inquiries organized by status: new, contacted, qualified, converted, declined, and spam.
- Drag cards between columns to update status, or click an inquiry to open its details.
Reply to an inquiry
- Open an inquiry from the pipeline board.
- Click "Reply" to compose a message.
- The reply is sent via email to the inquiry contact. The status automatically transitions to contacted.
- Follow-up replies can be sent the same way — the full conversation history is visible on the inquiry.
Convert an inquiry to a client
- Open a contacted or qualified inquiry.
- Click "Convert" to create a Client, Contact, and Project from the inquiry details in one step.
- The inquiry status moves to converted and links to the newly created records.
- From there, create a proposal or start tracking time on the project as usual.
How inquiries connect to your booking page
Your booking page (configured at Settings > Booking Page) is the entry point. When a visitor fills out the form, Clearmargin creates an inquiry with their name, email, selected services, and any custom question responses. Set up your booking page with setup-booking-page to start receiving inquiries automatically.
